Great review, with an absolutely true fact that an Eatinizmir Business Card helps a lot in reservation or for getting a better service. So if you are interested in becoming a review author in Eatinizmir go to http://www.eatinizmir.com/become-an-editor

Unfortunately, Goz Goz Kokorec Evi has changed its owner a few months ago, and is currently closed. We will find a good alternative for our readers and will let you know on EatInIzmir.com!

My two cents: If you're coming to Equinox for dinner only (bypassing the Executive Lounge), make sure to have a drink in Swissotel's Sky Bar before you proceed to the restaurant. The cocktails they make have been great, and you can enjoy the view of the bay and the Republic Square below.

Food-wise, menus are seasonal, as EatInIzmir pointed out. You can email Equinox beforehand to know if you like the selection. A cold dish of quail has been good, as were salads and various offers of mushrooms. But I would recommend skipping sushi, ordered in my pre-Sushico days, to have a better selection here: http://www.eatinizmir.com/sushico.html

I still remember the saffron soup I had there in late 2008! It was expensive relative other soups (20 TL at the time), but it was well worth it.

I also had salmon, which was good, but then, it was a conservative choice: it's hard to go wrong with a salmon dish :)

I totally agree with the sushi comments, they are delicious and as a sushi-lover, I believe Sushico has no competiton in Izmir. Although I think very highly of their sushi, the Chinese food they make(yes I will dare say this)is horrible! I had the chance to try Chinese food in a lot of different places and countries yet I have never tasted such "tasteless" Chinese food. Let me put it this way; the noodles that I make at home are a lot better! I haven't tried their Japanese or Thai food so I won't talk about that part but they should change their Chinese Cuisine manager immediately. It tastes bad and portions are too small, it really does not match with Sushico's well deserved reputation on Sushi. They should either fix this problem or take everything else off their menu and just make what they make the best; Sushi! Or else I will have to get in that kitchen to show them how to make Chinese food! :)
