Ozan Devlen's Review:

Leman Kultur Balcova – No sleepovers, Our doors are always open

Leman is the name of the one of the most famous humor magazine in Turkey published since 1991. The original Leman Kültür opened its doors in 1994 and now with 18 branches all over the Turkey they are serving as restaurants but also place for youngster raised with their cultural environment. The original Leman Kultur opened with the motto “No sleepovers, Our doors are always open.”

They started 3 branches in Izmir, carefully located in Bornova, Alsancak and last to Balçova. They provide a good coverage for the target group and large enough to serve a lot of people at the same time.

Eatizmir decided to pay a visit to the newest branch of Leman in Balçova. The atmosphere was good even though the shielding for the outside lacks quality the average temperature was close to comfort temperature. The decoration on the other hand is quite good like the other Leman branches where they use the pictures of favorite characters from the humor magazine.

After all this introduction it is necessary to come to the bad news! The food was mediocre to be honest this is best review we can provide. Nothing was special, nothing was good based on what we have tried. The naming of the food is very unique in Leman as they use fun names including the characters from the magazine.

We have tried chicken with basemal sauce and beef steak with rockets and parmesan, both served with fried potato wedges the shocking truth is that they serve the beef on a rock plate which is ice cold. The beef was already cold before I even start eating. The chicken on the other hand was also tasteless very ordinary and do not match the price tag.

Overall if you want to have fun with your friends, enjoy good music and atmosphere than you can choose Leman Kultur Balcova as your destination however obviously it is not meant for a culinary experience.

How to get there:
